The Sixth Form Open Evening

The open evening for current Year 11 students takes place on Thursday 8th December from 6.30-8.30pm.  Please reserve your places online at www.wollastonschool.eventbright.com

University Applications

As the end of term approaches, it is really pleasing to report that dozens of Year 13 students have been receiving offers from universities for a September 2017 start.  So far 35 students have received 5 offers (the most you can receive), while 10 students have already received ‘unconditional’ offers (the university’s way of saying ‘you’re fab, we want you.’).  There is still time for any remaining Y13 students to apply to university – applications close on 15th January 2017, so please encourage your son or daughter if appropriate.

Christmas Appeal

The Sixth Form Christmas appeal is due to be launched on Monday 5th December.  Students are asked to bring in a wrapped Christmas present (with a label on saying what sort of age group the present is for) that will be distributed by the Salvation Army to children and families that struggle to provide at Christmas time.

Cambridge University Visit

Four of our Year 13 students have taken part in a mock interview at St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge in a scheme led by Dr Sean Butler.  The aim of the scheme is to support students who have real interviews for either Cambridge or Oxford university or for Medical Schools.  All four boys have interviews in the next two weeks – two at Oxford University and two for Medical School – we wish them luck.
