Technology in the Classroom
IN THIS SECTION
At Wollaston we endeavour to work with technology to promote and enhance student learning opportunities in the classroom.
In line with our ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) policy issued in October 2015, students are permitted to use mobile devices with staff permission to enrich their learning during lessons. Mobile devices are not permitted to be used outside lesson time.
Students in Years 7-9 have ICT lessons once a week, following National Curriculum guidelines. A culture of safe internet use is promoted through assemblies for all Year groups.
Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
Over the past 6 months we have been developing a VLE which enables teachers to post all of their teaching materials, past exam questions and other useful resources for students in one place, for students to access remotely.
It is our intention to post homework for students on this software in the near future. The link below will take parents and students directly to the VLE.
