A number of elite universities look for a language GCSE on your UCAS application
On the 27th of September Wollaston celebrated the European Day of Languages. The canteen was decorated with flags and had a special menu for the day, but the main event was the form time music quiz. Each form was sent 15 musical clips from across the world. The aim of the game was to guess which language each song was written in. At the end of the week it became clear that the winner of the quiz would be 8BRN (Nightingale) with an impressive full house. Second place went to 10FOS (Churchill) with 14/15 with 8FUR (Drake) in a tidy 3rd place. A full list of the songs used in the quiz can be found on YouTube here: goo.gl/u14MGN
Churchill was triumphant winning 1000 points for the Staff trick or Treat eating competition and then gaining an additional 600 points for the Pumpkin carving competition.
However, Drake came a close second winning 1000 points for the Pumpkin Carving competition and winning 400 points for the Staff trick or treat.
It was a busy week, with two items scheduled for Children In Need and 'The Big Quiz' rescheduled.
