Head’s Newsletter -15th December 2023

Dear parents and carers

The festive feel around Wollaston has continued this week with our Christmas lunch on Wednesday and we look forward to our Christmas Fayre and Performing Arts Winter Celebration on Monday! Free tickets for both events are available on Parent Pay and we would love to welcome you to Wollaston to look around the Christmas market supplied by local businesses and then to move on to the amazing performances in the main hall. Timings for the event are 1700-1800 for the Christmas market (in the science playground) and 1800-1900 for the Winter Celebration in the main hall. It is also Christmas jumper day on Tuesday for our final day before the holiday!

Academic Progress Reports

The first round of progress reports will be published next week for Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12. Years 11 and 13 reports will be published by January 12th and will reflect the outcomes from the recent mock exams. Parents will receive a letter next week to alert of the publications, supported with guidance of what information is included in the report. For new parents, or those who wish to refresh, please read the ‘Parents’ Guide to Grades and Reporting 2023-24’, accessed through the link below. This should help you to understand how we set benchmarks for our students and how we measure progress against them.

Reports, when published, will be accessed via Go4Schools.com – viewed live or downloadable as a PDF.

In addition, Year 7 CAT4 outcomes can be found on your child’s Go4Schools home page. Please remember, these simply offer us an additional insight into cognitive ability and complement all other data we use. Please see ‘Parents’ Guide to Grades and Reporting 2023-24’ (Page 4) if you wish to learn more about CAT4 testing.
