U16 Girls Football Team

The U16 Girls football team played a friendly game on Thursday 17th October against Caroline Chisholm school at home on Wollaston school field. This was an excellent way to get some game practise in before the first round of their cup tournament against Weston Favel school which will be played next term.

Wollaston team had the most possession during the whole match and had around 16 shots on target, but Caroline Chisholm had a phenomenal goal keeper whom we just couldn’t score against. We unfortunately conceded 1 goal, and the game ended 0 – 1 to Caroline Chisholm.

The girls were all in good spirits and are looking forward to their first cup game next term. I would like to thank Mr Myers who has been giving up his free time on Thursday after school to coach the team. Mr Myers is a qualified FA Level 2 coach and the PE department are very grateful for his time and commitment to the girls football team. I would also like to thank Joshua Baker in Year 12 who refereed the game (he is a qualified FA referee), he was professional and consistent during the whole match.
