We are currently looking to appoint three new governors to the governing body of Wollaston School. We are looking for governors with a suitable skills set to enhance the experience and add to the work of the governing body.
The vacancies will not be filled via a parent election, as there are rules about how many of these the school can appoint. They will, therefore, be co-opted governors and appointed via a panel interview. The governors’ terms of office run for four years. The skills sets we are particularly looking for are as follows:
- Knowledge of teaching and learning in a secondary school environment
- Safeguarding
- Financial planning and purchasing
- Premises management
- Health and safety
- Legal issues
- Links with local businesses
