Head’s Newsletter -12th January 2024

Dear parents and carers

We are now back in full swing for the term and have some good news and key events to share with you this week.

Year 11’s preparations for their summer examinations continue at pace with a visit from a theatre company who performed A Christmas Carol- please see the report below from Miss Kamen. Mr Jackson will be in touch with details for parents of Year 11 in the coming weeks as our afterschool Masterclasses kick off once more in the sixth form centre.

Congratulations to Declan Sheehan (Year 8) who has qualified for Crufts 2024 (this will be his 2nd time at Crufts). Declan has qualified in both the YKC Agility Dog of the Year, and also the YKC ABC Agility (Anything But Collie) categories and he will be competing at Crufts in March- we wish him the best of luck and hearing more about his experience of the event.

Miss Kamen writes “This week our year 11’s had a fantastic visit from a theatre company with a production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ helping them towards their final literature exams. The students were engaged and positive and we even had audience participation from our very own Oliver Tudor!”

Ofsted Inspection of North Northamptonshire SEND

North Northamptonshire Council are currently enjoying an Ofsted Inspection of SEND.  This process lasts 3 weeks and may involve some visits to schools by Inspectors. Inspectors are also keen to hear the views of parents and staff working with SEND in the area. Details of how to access the survey have been sent out earlier in the week. If you have a child with a SEND need and have missed this and would like to express your views, please contact the learning support team who will be delighted to help.
