Head’s Newsletter -5th January 2024

Dear parents and carers

Happy new year! It has been a great return to school this week and we are looking forward to an amazing term.

Just a few of the usual start of term reminders please with regards to uniform. With the weather being so inclement and cold weather on the horizon, should you child need an extra layer please do encourage them to wear a coat! Students who wear non-school uniform items such as hoodies, sweaters or tracksuit tops will be asked to remove them.

Please also be aware that the traffic issues arising from the roadworks at the roundabout on the A509 are causing congestion during the morning and plan your journey accordingly – we are in communication with the local authority and bus companies to ensure that we do everything we can to ensure a timely start to the school day. If you are able to adjust your journey to factor in any potential delays that would be really helpful to ensuring a smooth start to the day.

We had a very successful and thought-provoking trip to Poland prior to Christmas where students and staff had the opportunity to visit Auschwitz. Thank you to Mr Foster for leading this trip and we look forward to hearing a bit about the trip in the newsletter next week.

Key dates for the week ahead:

  • MFL mock oral exams Year 11 and 13 (Monday-Friday)
  • Year 13 Parents’ Evening – Thursday 11th via Edulink

Best wishes for the week ahead.

Simon Anderson
